GENERAL NURSING & MIDWIFERY (G N M)

The candidates are admitted to the three years General Nursing and Midwifery Course in the month of September every year. Since the school has attached hospitals, it shall provide good educational facilities with the help of highly qualified staff and a wide clinical field for practical experience.

The Training will not just make great nurses for a global market where the demand for quality nursing is extreme and immediate, but it will also provide immense confidence and a sense of great self-respect for the nurses. It will give them the power to choose a better and happier life for themselves and their families.

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
Duration

: 3 Years

Eligibility:

Pre University / 10+2 /pass or its equivalent preferably Science /Art subjects. Male / Female candidates with good conduct and sound health between the age of 17 to 25 years are eligible. Physical fitness must be certified for admission through medical checkup by a practicing qualified medical officer. Good Knowledge of English is essential, Local candidates must know to read and write Kannada. Others will have Kannada Classes.

Course Out-Line and Medium of Instruction : Syllabus and the General Course out-Line prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council is followed in our school, and with regard to this, we meet the requirements fully. The medium of Instruction in the school is English. Class room and clinical lectures are given by Nursing Tutors, Clinical Instructors and Doctors. Lectures on specialities will be given by specialists in the field. During the training period, students are also assigned hospital duties for their clinical experience in various departments such as medical, surgical, pediatrics, operation theatre and other specialities. Community Nursing and family welfare works from a part of the training and super speciality.

Preliminary Training Period : The first three months of training is called Preliminary Training period at the end of which there will be an examination and the successful candidates will receive their uniform and continue their duties. The failed candidates are given a second chance and if they are found unfit, they will not be allowed to continue their studies.

Certificates : As the course is recognised both by the State and the Indian Nursing Council, the Certificates issued to the Candidates can be registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council, of any state in India in order to practice as an 'A' grade registered Nurse and Midwife.

Best Outgoing student Award : Best outgoing student award has been instituted & bright students will be employed in KKECS School of Nursing.

Clinical Training : CT Post, CICU, MICU, NICU, SICU, O.T. Neuro ICU, Organ Transplant Unit, Burns, HDU, Oncology Unit, Emergency, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Paediatrics and General Wards.

Specialised Training : CGFS (Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing School) Coaching : Compulsory Examination for working in U.S.A./ TOFEL / TSE (Test of Spoken English) : Universal Requirement & Compulsory Value Added Training : CGFNS (Commission)

Global Etiquette : To allow the individual to acquire cosmopolitan work ethics.

Service Quality : To update the individuals with state-of-the art work procedures for practicing the highest order global requirements.

Personal Grooming : To inculcate the desired level of self-confidence in each individual to face fragmented global requirements..

Who can Apply : Diploma (RNRM) or Degree (B.Sc., Nursing) holders' age should be below 40yrs. The training allows all registered nurses to apply for the course for bright and competent carriers.

(a) Experienced Nurse : Nurses who have an experience of one year in medium to large hospitals after B.Sc., Nursing / RNRM will be given a course of 18 months. Nurses who have an experience of 2 years in medium to large hospitals after B.Sc., Nursing / RNRM will be given a course of 10 months and nurses who have an experience of 3 years and more will be given a course of 6 months.

(b) Fresh Nurses : Diploma and degree holders with no experience will get 3 years training (Initial 1 year with Apollo Hospitals Group for experience + 2 years special Training).

Earn While you Learn

The trainees will be charged an amount of Rs. 30,000/- as training fee.

a. A very attractive monthly stipend will be provided during the training period .
